The ‘West African Security Team’ says you’re in trouble!

Nigerian Email Scams, sometimes known as 419 Scams (after the international phone code for Nigeria) are nothing new. They often purport to come from some wealthy individual who has left you some vast fortune in the form of an inheritance – of course, they’re entirely bogus and even communicating with the scammers is to be avoided. This new twist on the scam is interesting. Today we received an email from the ‘West African Security Team’ – informing us that we were in trouble for sending money to West Africa. This is news to us!

The new twist on the old faithful is interesting – but ludicrous all the same. We’re not entirely sure who would reply to this obvious scam, but what is clear, is that someone does reply, or they would not be sending these emails.
