Fake ‘shared Google Docs’ links arriving in inboxes now – do NOT click them

There is a fake ‘shared google docs’ email landing in inboxes everywhere. It will NOT share a document with you, but instead grants a hacker access to your gmail contacts list. DO NOT CLICK IT.

The email may even come from a trusted contact if they clicked one of these emails.

We are certain that Google will be working to close this loophole, but in the meanwhile, many thousands, if not millions of people are falling for this, and handing over their Gmail contacts to the hackers/scammers.

We also expect anti-malware providers to be updating the email protection modules with a definition to detect this type of scam.
