If you’ve ever had one of our technicians work on your computer, you may have been told about the ‘swiss army knife’ of computer tools – we install it on every computer we work on – and that tool is cCleaner from Piriform – we recommend getting the ‘slim’ installer, but if you don’t see one, either wait, or install the full version and remember to UNCHECK the box for the toolbar that accompanies it.
So – how useful is cCleaner? Very. You can cleanup your windows and browser caches, check the registry for obsolete keys, trim your startup program, and you can add/remove programs much quicker than using the in-built Control Panel method of Add/Remove Programs.
Here’s how:
Using cCleaner to add and remove programs
1. Open ccleaner
2. click the ‘Tools’ tab
3. select the program from the list of installed software
4. click ‘Uninstall’
Voila – done!
