Long time security blogger and journalist, Brian Krebs, is reporting that Shoney’s restaurants is rumored to be at the center of another card breach.
According to their wikipedia entry:
Shoney’s is a privately held restaurant chain headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Operating primarily in the Southern United States, Shoney’s also has restaurants in the Midwestern and Lower Mid-Atlantic states of the United States.
The chain has a mixture of company owned and franchise restaurant properties in 16 states.
At this time, a statement from the chain itself has not been made available, and it isn’t currently known whether the breach crosses over between company owned restaurants and franchises. Back in previous restaurant breaches, the breach suffered by Wendy’s was thought to affect only franchises, while Arby’s restaurant breach affected only company owned stores.
